Five wins this week for MV

The Mount Vernon baseball team won five games this week, beating Clear Creek-Amana, Center Point-Urbana and Anamosa.
The Mustangs are currently 10-12 overall and are seeing solid improvement on the field.
Against the Clippers last week, Mount Vernon scored 11 runs in the last inning to earn a 19-9 win.
The Mustangs had 19 hits - they were led by Trey Ryan and Jake Pisarik, who each had four hits.
In the nightcap, the Mustangs were just as dominant, winning 16-8 and totalling 10 hits. Cal Kragenbrink had a double and a triple to lead Mount Vernon.
The Mustangs play at Marion today (Thursday, June 21). Monday they are at Maquoketa. Next Wednesday, June 27, they play at Benton Community.
