Linda Marsden, 27, is teaching high school science.
Currently living in Iowa City, her hometown is Crailsheim, Germany.
Her family includes her husband, Michael, and her parents, Dr. John and Denise Hellstein.
She attended Sherwood High School in Olney, Md., Greenbrier High School in Evans, Ga., and Iowa City West High School. She graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., and did post-graduate work at the College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina University.
Teaching became her focus when she was tutoring in college and was told she did a great job explaining topics in new ways.
Marsden explained her teaching philosophy: "I believe in project-based learning, that inquiry can lead students to be lifelong learners."
Outside of school, she enjoys playing wither her dogs, including her 140-pound Great Dane, swimming and reading. |
