Cole Corner: Once upon a time,
May 03, 2013 · Cathy Boggs
Last week I was reminded, once again, why I love working for a combined college/public library.
At story time, students in the Fairy Tales course taught by German professor Johanna Schuster-Craig performed three short plays they adapted from the Brothers Grimm. The children loved these live performances!
The students in this class are now working on adapting fairy tales from a variety of cultures. Some of these adaptations include artwork, film, comics, a puppet show, and children's literature. These adaptations will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in the Hedges Conference Room of the Thomas Commons.
The students would love to have a community and student audience. For those with families who would like to attend, please know the students are doing their best to present family friendly (PG rating) projects. There will be an intermission halfway through the performances.
The performance is free and open to all.
