Hallmark names volunteer of the year
May 03, 2013
Hallmark Care Center and Cherry Ridge Independent & Assisted Living in Mount Vernon recognized their volunteers on Tuesday, April 23, during National Volunteer Week.
"Residents and staff are grateful for all the opportunities our volunteers provide," said Mary Kay Harris, representing Hallmark and Cherry Ridge. "They feel their volunteers bloom in the community. From every resident, staff, family, visitor or friend ... thank you for all the volunteers do."
This year's volunteer of the year is Mount Vernon's John Pospisil, who gives his time and talents to Hallmark and Cherry Ridge almost daily. He helps with bingo, doesn't hesitate to get a cup of coffee for a resident, makes spur-of-the-moment visits, and often lends a helping hand, Harris said.
"From patience to pride in all that he does, Hallmark certainly wouldn't be the same without him," Harris said. "We can't say how much each little deed means. For every resident, you've helped make their day or every staff member you have greeted along the way. From the bottom of our hearts, Hallmark certainly thanks John Pospisil, our volunteer of the year."
