Mustangs fourth at WaMaC Divisional

The Mustang boys'golf team finished fourth in the eight-team WaMaC Divisional tournament at Maquoketa Monday.
That followed a first-place finish at Williamsburg Wednesday, April 24.
At the WaMaC Divisional tournament, Connor Herrmann and Andy DeCamp both shot a 39, tying for 10th place. Mount Vernon had a team score of 161, the same as third-place DeWitt Central, which edged Mount Vernon in the tie-breaker. West Delaware won the team title with a 149, followed by Maquoketa (157). Finishing behind the Mustangs were Dyersville Beckman, 164; Western Dubuque, 167; Solon, 170; and Anamosa, 176.
Full results of the meet were not available at press time.
At Williamsburg last week, the Mustangs had a 325 to edge out the runner-up Raiders and their score of 326.
Herrmann earned runner-up status with a 76 and DeCamp was third with a 79. Corbin Blythe of Williamsburg was the medalist with a 71.
The WaMaC Super Meet is this coming Monday at the Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg.
Mount Vernon's Class 2A sectional is Friday, May 10, at the West Liberty Golf Club.
