Chester Lewis Bolton, 95, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at NHC, Greenville, S.C. He was the son of the late Sherman and Maggie Mae Flater Bolton.
Chester was born June 1, 1918 in Tipton and married Dorothy Gamble of Mount Vernon on June 1, 1938. The couple raised their children here.
Chester farmed, ran a feed mill and had an ice route. He also worked for Jack Murphy Ford.
He was retired from Prudential Insurance Company and he was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by a son Frank Bolton of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a daughter Patricia Erlenbaugh and husband Richard; grandchildren Ann Marie Bynum and husband Matt, Mark Erlenbaugh and wife Cason; great-grandchildren Matthew, Luke, John Bynum, and Cason's sons Alex and Ethan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Mount Vernon.
