Staff changes OKed

Three staffing changes were approved last week by the Lisbon School Board, including the departure of a successful coach.
Matt Haddy, a paraeducator and coach, is leaving for a position in the Independence School District.
Haddy led the Lisbon-Mount Vernon girls' golf team to three consecutive Big East Conference titles, including this past spring. In his fifth year as coach of the boys' basketball team, he led the Lions to the school's first state basketball tournament appearance. He was also an assistant football coach, including when the Lions won the state title in 2011, and this summer is the junior high baseball coach.
Principal Ian Dye noted Haddy's success as a coach, and thanked him for his contributions to the Lisbon School District.
The school board earlier this month also approved the assignment of Lance Kamaus as the new part-time athletic director, and approved the resignation of Jim Schultz from the position. Kamaus, formerly a full-time teacher for the district, will teach half-time and serve as athletics director half-time. His salary is $50,128.50. Schultz will now be a full-time math teacher.
Board members also approved the hire of Nadine Bellinger as a high school English teacher. Her salary is $39,866.
Bellinger takes over from Christine Berlin, who has taken a position with the Clear Creek-Amana School District. Bellinger comes to Lisbon from teaching junior high at North Cedar.
