Francis C. (Frank) Hoodmaker

Francis C. (Frank) Hoodmaker passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 1, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Boyd; sons, John (Karla) Hoodmaker and Steven (Ann) Hoodmaker; grandchildren, Evan, Lauren, Megan, Matt and Ella; and ex-wife Carolyn Fraser.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Irl and Luelda Hoodmaker.
Frank grew up in Mount Vernon and graduated from Cornell College. He then enlisted in the Army before earning a master's in geology from the University of Wyoming. Geology took his family all over the United States and Canada before settling in Ft. Collins, Colo., in 1969. He then worked for Ideal Basic/Holnam and the University of Wyoming as a petrographer. He enjoyed camping, fly fishing, gardening, dancing, bicycling and traveling with his family.
Funeral service is on Friday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at Harmony Presbyterian Church, Ft. Collins, Colo., with a reception immediately to follow. Veteran's service and interment will be at Ft. Logan Cemetery, Denver, Colo., on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.
