Christopher Lee ‘Stretch’ Palmer

Christopher Lee "Stretch" Palmer, 37, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Sacramento, Calif., died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Lisbon United Methodist Church. Burial will be at a later date at Raetz Cemetery in Atkins.
Christopher was born Oct. 21, 1975, in Cedar Rapids. He loved all sports and embraced basketball as both a player and a coach. He often gave of himself - helping those less fortunate, mowing neighbors' yards and offering a helping hand to those in need. Christopher also loved riding his bike.
A loving uncle, brother and son, Christopher is survived by his mother, Jacqueline (Richard) Jennings Palmer Oxley of Cedar Rapids; brother, Cameron (Patricia) Ulrich of St. Louis; sister, Kimberly (Scott) Yeater of Shellsburg; two nieces, three nephews and many aunts and uncles, including Kathy Jennings Jamison, Lisbon. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Palmer.
