The Lisbon football team remains undefeated in Class A, District 5 after earning a 30-6 win at WACO last Friday.
The Lions are 4-0 in district action and 4-2 overall.
Friday night the Lions got the job done with persistence.
Lisbon scored first, putting eight points on the board with a Cameron Jorgenson three-yard scramble for a touchdown and then a Logan Rickard keeper for the two-point conversion.
WACO answered in the first quarter, scoring a touchdown of its own but missing the extra point.
This made the Lisbon lead just 8-6 at the end of one quarter.
The Lions weren't bothered and quickly added another touchdown in the second quarter. This time it was Rickard on a three-yard run and the two-point conversion pass fell incomplete.
At the half, Lisbon led 14-6.
This is where the persistence comes in - the Lions scored a touchdown in each quarter of the game.
In the third quarter it was a huge Tyler Svatosch 55-yard carry for a touchdown, followed by a Rickard run for the two points.
Then in the fourth quarter it was another Svatosch carry, this time from just 11 yards away. The two-point conversion was a pass from Brock Givens to Svatosch.
Lisbon had 288 yards of total offense and held WACO to just 154.
The Lions play their homecoming game Friday night against New London (1-3, 2-4).
