Board elects officers
January 10, 2014
The Lisbon School Board ended 2013 with a new member and new people in leadership roles.
Ann Cannon was officially sworn in on the five-member board. She was appointed by the board to replace Andy Sullivan, who resigned due to a move out of the state. A 20-year resident of Lisbon and a professor at Cornell College, Cannon has been a regular attendee of board meetings for the past few years. Her term will run until the September 2015 election.
Sullivan served as board president, overseeing meetings, and with his departure the board elected new officers. Board members unanimously chose Allan Mallie, formerly the board vice president, as board president. They unanimously chose Dave Prasil as board vice president. Mallie and Prasil were re-elected this past fall. Prasil is a 28-year member of the school board. Mallie is starting his second term on the board.
In their final meeting of the year, board members also approved committee assignments. They are:
• Finance and negotiations: Eric Krob and Prasil.
• Legislative: Cannon and Mallie.
• Facilities: Cannon and Mark Smith.
• Program and policy: Krob and Mallie.
