Cole Library: Prepare to run in character for May library event
February 28, 2014 · Sarah Benesh
Spring will be here before we know it. The Mount Vernon Public Library invites you to celebrate its arrival with a 5K library fun walk/run on Saturday, May 3, at 8 a.m. - just before the Chalk the Walk festivities begin. The fun walk/run will start in front of the third floor entrance of the library (north side). There will be no preregistration. Just show up. This is an event that is good for the whole family. A $10 donation to the library would be welcomed.
We also welcome you to come dressed as your favorite author or character out of a book. Heck, come as a Nook, or a book, or even a bookworm (or Nookworm). Dressing up is entirely optional, but the fun of it might just make the work of tackling those Mount Vernon rolling hills a little easier.
If you need some help training for this event, the library has more than 17 DVDs that can help you increase your fitness level. There are also shelves of books in the Browsing Room that can provide you with lots of information about health and fitness.
So, if you happen to see a herd of Harry Potters running down your street May 3, don't worry. It's not a Hogwarts snow day, it's the library's fun run/walk 5K. See you there!
