December 22, 2017
Three local men were arrested Thursday, Dec. 21, on felony and other charges related to an incident reported in August.
Brandon Havill, 18, of Mount Vernon, David Rooks, 18, and Nicholas Rooks, 18, both of Lisbon, were arrested by Lisbon and Mount Vernon police officers at a home on Main Street in Lisbon Dec. 21.
They were apprehended and taken to the Linn County Correctional Center on warrants for willful injury causing bodily injury (Class D felony), assault while displaying a dangerous weapon (aggravated misdemeanor), and false imprisonment (serious misdemeanor).
According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, their arrests related to Aug. 16, when police were called to conduct a welfare check on an adult female at an apartment on First Ave. S.E. in Mount Vernon. She reported that she had been assaulted while staying at the residence. She was transported to a hospital by the Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service.
Police report that upon further investigation, it was determined she had been staying at the residence since July, and reported being assaulted on multiple occasions by Havill and David and Nicholas Rooks.
That led to the criminal charges and their arrests.
