Cole Corner: Wilson steps into Paws for Reading role
February 08, 2018 · Cathy Boggs

This summer we launched a successful program, Paws for Reading. This program was an opportunity for children to come to the library once a week and read out loud to a trained therapy dog.

I wanted to continue the program and have been looking for a dog for Paws for Reading during the school year. Many people have nice dogs and have offered them to us to use. Unfortunately, because of the nature of the program(dog + children), we must have a licensed therapy dog.

And now we have one. Hurray!

Sue Owen-Anton will be bringing her dog Wilson to the library on the fourth Monday of each month from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

To sign up for a 10-minute time slot, call 319-895-4146 or stop in.

The first day with Wilson is Monday, Feb. 26. Wilson enjoys all types of books and is looking forward to meeting you and sharing a story and a hug.
