The Lisbon City Council at its meeting Monday, April 10, approved the request of Dennis and Wilma Williams to retain agricultural zoning for a parcel of land reduced in size as a result of land acquisition by the Iowa DOT for construction of the Hwy. 30 bypass. The reduced size of the parcel fell below the seven-acre requirement for agricultural zoning.

Rain barrel incentives offered again to Mt. Vernon residents

For the third consecutive year, a locally funded program will be offered to Mount Vernon citizens for purchasing rain barrels. A donor through the Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church means a rebate program will again be available to residents who purchase and install a rain barrel at their residence.
